Default 997 gt3 driver seat noise

I got a annoying squeeking sound from my club sport seat. From side to side in corners and if I move seat back and forth. Also squeeking when I pull the lever for adjusting position without moving the seat.

Suggestions?

I assume you checked all the mount bolts at the 4 corners as well as the seatbelt and receptacle that bolts to the seat mount frame. Other area that would squeak is the plastic on each side of the head rest. You can try lubing the areas where the plastic meets the leather.

I have the carbon lightweight seats. Do I need to remove the seat to get to the bolts?

St. Pattie's day hangover?

Norwegian, the 4 bolts are the bolts that hold the seat to the floor of the car so the answer is no, you won't even be able to remove the seats until you get to the bolts.

All jokes aside, first check:

1. where the seat makes contact with the center console. Use felt tape in those areas to quiet down any questing. Pay particular attention to the seat belt receptacles as those were notorious for squeaking in the Audi RS4's.

If nothing there, then:

1. As Clifton stated, make sure those 4 bolts are secured.
2. If they are then, remove them and remove the seat from the car for further inspection.
3. Not to take anything away from Clifton, I would not use any type of lube where plastic meets leather. Use adhesive felt. The lube can deteriorate leather.

Good luck, squeaks are the worst

Thanks! I have the non leather club sport bucket seats from carrera Gt. So maybe they dont have trouble regarding leather noise?

when removing seat from car. Is it best to remove seat and sliding together?

sometimes I can hear the noise when moving seat back and forth. And also in turns or If I move from side to side standing still

Is this a flatulence issue?

High five and Thanks for helping to complete my thought. By lube I should have been more specific. I was thinking leather care products to “lube” the leather not a petroleum product.

On any car that I’ve owned with leather, many rouge noises come from contact points; leather on leather, leather on plastic. “Lube” them up and they go quiet.

I have the Carrera GT Seats as well, only with leather/alcantara.

I found it’s easier to slide the seat fore and aft to remove the 4 bolts securing the seat to the floor. Then you have more room to access the the bolts securing the seat to the mounts.

As to the squeak, might be easier to pull the seat/mount/rails as one and test outside the car. Ask a friend to sit in the seat and dance while you listen. Also worth checking the bolts where the seat meets the mount. Definitely a point for noise. Check the seatbelt receptacles as well.

Last thing I can think of is to check all the mounting hardware for completeness. I seemed to recall the seat to mount had specific fitted hardware (bolts machined to mate and lock into place). All of the above assumes Porsche factory mounting etc.

hope this helps and good luck!

Please try again. I changed vimeo settings(not familiar with these things)

I am pretty sure its from the seat base/slider area. This problem started last summer and got worse over time. In the beginning i got rid of the noise sliding the seat from max forward to back a few times. That maybe lubed the slider?

Could it be noise from base/slider out of alignment or the seat adjustment lever rubbing? Or only need for lubrication?

Video is still not working. I think the best way for you to check is to post up the videos, then log out of your Vimeo account and try to view them.
