Rennlisters - thanks for entertaining the idea of helping me decide where I'm headed with my next purchase: either a 996 GT3 or 997.1 GT3

I have come from a couple air cooled cars, got enamored with the rage, and have ultimately decided that the sound of a Mezger is truly what I long for.

My current 993 is as close to RS-spec as it can be without being fully seam welded and sans 3.8l engine. It really drives quite well. It just doesn't 'sound' the way I'd like and there is a bit of missing power that will be expensive to chase.

I had a great time getting familiar with a 996 GT3 this morning with a fellow Rennlister and hope a local 997.1 GT3 owner might be willing to meet up for a quick run to allow me a bit of a comparison between the two cars.

You ever get up to LA and shoot thru Angelus Crest? If you ever come up on a weekend, I'll give you a few minutes in the seat of my RS, thru the Crest. Granted it's not stock, but it's close enough to give you an idea on what to expect.

Haven't made a run through Angelus Crest - but on the to-drive list. I'll stay in touch when I can make it up one weekend morning.
