RSS center delete + TPC valved side delete?

one persons drone is another persons song. I agree with Stephano,... believe it when I hear it (or don't hear it). Every ear is slightly different

The valves do nothing really. I had the setup because I bought side deletes to try out with center muffler. The goal was to get similar sound to center delete, but less weight and heat on rear tires. After trying the side delete and oem muffler setup, I hated it. The sound was waaaaaay too quiet after getting used to just a center delete, except for the boomy drone at the ~3k range. So I decided to just try no mufflers for a bit. Turned out to be the perfect setup for me. At this point, the valves were useless for the setup, but I already owned them and it didn't make sense to spend more money to get some without valves. I've since sold my 997 that had this setup and bought another 997. I've installed the Sharkwerks race on my current car, but I'm going to try the Dundon/JCR center delete next. Looking for power and potentially high pitched sound due to the titanium center delete. I guess we'll see how it goes. My Sharkwerks pipes will likely be for sale soon.

The other thing I left out on this thread is that I've had the Carnewal remote controller for my setup. Without it, you can't control them, and will not make a comparative decision between on and off. The remote allows you to keep them open or closed obviously, and it also stays the way you leave it even when you shut the car off.
So depending on rpm or throttle position there is indeed a difference with the valves closed, more or less noticeable depending on those conditions. When I talk on the phone, the valves are closed and it sure does make a difference.
Here are some of my other loud *** pipes-nothing compares to a triple 2 stroke 750 with stingers
The Z1 900 also has straight pipes 4 in1

Lots of good info. I simply have Sharkey center delete, and most agree that it sounds great. I for one like having a functional sport button.
What affect would headers + 200 cell cats have on sound?

My Sharkwerks center sounds glorious when you give it the beans, but wouldn’t mind shedding a bit of weight. Maybe I’ll mate my center with side deletes. But those Dundon street headers sure are purty, though super pricey lol

Im curious about this too. I’d say loud unless you have side mufflers?

Believe it or not, the Fabspeed (Valved) side pipes with RSS center delete has NO drone at cruising speed; 3000 rpm. It's boomy at around 3700-4000 but on the highway there's no reason to be in that RPM band, just chugging along. And when you want to step on it, its a cup car.

I had a center delete for about a year and then added Fabspeed headers w/cats. It was definitely louder and if the side mufflers were deleted it would probably be a little much. This is coming from a guy who's driven loud, lowered cars since 1995

Holy smokes! Just got the Dundon headers added and swapped in a JCR center delete. Prior to this I had the Sharkwerks race. The new setup is a smidge louder, but much higher pitched. It sounds more like an exotic than the Sharkwerks did. Much less boominess in the lower RPMs as well.

Started with a Sharkwerks center delete. Sounded nice but a slight loss of power is what I felt in the seat of my pants compared to a fully stock setup. I then went full long tube headers, 200 cell cats, Brombacher side mufflers and no center muffler. It's super quiet and insanely fast now. Pulls like a freight train. Has Evoms tune to boot.
