I think another question is you've had the car for 7 years. Has it always been that way? Was this problem sudden and profound or has it slowly degraded?

It's only been this year and maybe a tad bit last year. So it's progressive and never was like this. So it's definitely an issue that had slowly gotten worse
Now it's sketchy to drive hard so it's time to bring it back to its former glory !

Keep this thread posted. Looking forward to seeing what was wrong. I'm still betting tires. What the date code on the tires.

Seven year old tires??!!! ... What brand & model are they?
... depending on the model of tires (& its tread wear rating), 7 years is plenty old enough to gas out the petroleum from the rubber & make them hard. The car will definitely ride harsh with old hard rubber.
The fact that your tire rubber has been hardening over time, would easily explain the slow change in performance for you over time.
I was also going to comment / question further re: the number of miles on those 7 yr old tires (also wondering if they are / WERE a quality summer performance model),.. but its a moot point anyway regarding how many miles you got out them (& how much tread is left on them)....
First step, Get NEW tires!!! (of course put it up in the air & check everything over, like the guys have said here,.... but don't go ordering suspension parts before you've at least bought & driven with new tires).

New tires and alignment will probably cure it. These cars are fantastic in stock form, so I wouldn't personally be looking at mods to make it more stable. If you can't get it back with tires and alignment, I would look for evidence of leaking shocks, and if not start looking at bushings in the rear end. There are very few mods for these cars that actually make them better on the road.
