Recently I've been seeing a bunch of us have jumped on the "RL Team Member" offer. I was also sent the boilerplate message and have yet to get back to them to accept the offer, which I don't think is my thing. Can any of you newly team members elaborate on exactly what this is. Are you Moderators? Do you have the ability to alter, edit, delete posts?

Yes, basically monitoring RL and helping out with posts/spam, editing/deleting, etc. I took the offer and figured if it ever takes away from the enjoyment of RL and disconnecting from my day aspect, I can go back to being a normal member.

Sounds like Moderator got a new name. No more Moderators but we have Team Members who do the same thing moderators did. Can you now work on deleting the political subform.

Trust me, I'm trying to draw a fine line between deleting and leaving posts. I'm about the lease confrontational person ever, so maybe this will increase my confrontational skills. Lol.

Although I am consider the 997 GT3 cars for sale thread as the political subforum. Deleting the actual political sub forum you'd have to take up with someone higher than I lol.

After backstabbing the original group of moderators, the mutineers lasted almost a year before having a meltdown. Now RL is lost for someone to Mod the place. Funny stuff. Many of the longtime members let our membership lapse as a result of the initial attack. I still come here, but less and less so.

I only mention the history because modding this forum doesn't sound pleasant.

I didn't want to go there but I had friends that were mods. Rennlist has done some people real dirty and I'm not a fan of it. I like some of these members here though and I hang around for that, but as far as paying another membership for when mine expires, they can kiss that goodbye.

Sometimes it's nice not knowing how the sausage is made... I've never been a moderator for a forum. I appreciate the efforts of the good moderators that can find the right balance. Seems every forum has it's own set of button pushers and pot stirrers. No thank you.
