Default 997 CF rear ebrake trim

Any of you guys have this crack happen to you? Today I was pulling up my ebrake to park and heard a loud cracking noise. Examined the ebrake more closely and saw what looked like a crack on that cf trim on the rear of the ebrake. Not the actual handle. I thought at first my ebrake was wrecked but it seems to be functioning just fine thankfully. Car didnt move when engaged on a small incline and seems to be ratcheting just fine. Does feel a tad lose when disengaged but not sure if it was always like that. If the cables broke, I’m guessing the sound would have been more of a snapping sound due to cable snapping and the ebrake would no longer work.

I know the cf can break on these cars but did not expect that particular piece to break. Now I have that and my center console to replace.

The CF piece just slots into the metal ebrake housing… purely cosmetic. Ring up MACarbon if you’re going to replace a few pieces. The quality of the CF is much better than OEM.
