Will do. That was my original plan but I read on here when the pandemic was in full swing, that Gert was having shipment issues or something similar.

Sorry to hear it didn't work out Jack. If you can work on a Huey, this should be a no brainer. Maybe the 997 gods were trying to get you to snag a bypass instead

The advantage of the valvetronic is it pairs with the homelink garage opener in the car. The Carnewal only pairs with European car's homelink, so I have to use the included remote-

My .1 doesn't have a Homelink garage door opener, which might t explain why a simple ground wouldn't allow the remote to work.

Valvetronic was very helpful during the installation process and they sent my refund immediately upon receipt of my return.

The video shows it being grounded to the engine mount - which I did in two different places. The "U" ground wire connector is way to small to fit all the way around the engine mount bolt. I widened it enough on the first kit to get what I though was a good ground connection, but no luck.

Based on the advice I received from Valvetronic, I believe that proper grounding is likely the issue but I'm not fooling around with the electrical system to find out.

I appreciate your input, ngng!
None of these devices work without both power leads, 12VDC and Ground. Do you have a DVM to check for 12V?

Yes regarding 12V on my Klein Tools DVM. The power lead on the Valvetronic is the part of the device that connects to the solenoid that controls the exhaust flaps. The Sport button is the usual control source and it works just fine.

I've decided to keep the exhaust flaps setup stock. If I want it really loud all the time, all I have to do is disconnect the flaps solenoid which takes maybe 5 seconds. I ran it that way for a week a few months ago but that, coupled with the Fabspeed center muffler delete, was just too loud for me, even with tinnitus from playing loud guitar and bass in bands for 38 years.

Hmm I don't have the garage door opener either...UK car, does that mean it won't work? Slightly annoying if so!

Its being delivered today so I guess I will find out...

Double check that you have a good ground? Try a different location to make sure-

I have the carnewal and it took a few tries to get the ground to work. I grounded using the right top torx screw that holds the rear bumper. It's been working for years. There must be a defect with the valvetronic units if quite a few people have had issues-

I've had the Carnewal for 3 years now too. Worked the very first time I hooked it up, and has never failed once during the 3 years of using it. And I click the buttons ALL the time (multiple times every drive).

at my install, I found a nearby ground to the frame on the passenger side. clean.

Tried the engine mount and a plain unpainted bracket bolted to the block. Will try the bumper mount next see if that works...

So I had no further luck, valvetronic have emailed back and said to try wired directly both input leads to a 12v battery so that is the next test...
