Default 7.1 Rear Bumper imperfection

I see this more often on 997.1 GT3s. Possibly because of the heat from the engine, guessing that’s why they added vents in the 997.2 bumper.

It’s been bugging and wanted to get advice on how to best fix it. Is it fixable without having to paint the bumper?

Rear bumper imperfection almost like a dent…

Sometimes the rear distorts because of over tightening the mounts. Really common on the lower arch behind the rear wheels.

yours is a first as the heat shields do a good job already.

Take a look at your taillights. Appears that someone removed the bumper and didn't replace it correctly. I'd take it back off and inspect the bumper for overtightened screws, missing heat shields and any body work that could have happened. Then reassemble and try to get everything lined up properly. Shim the taillights at the bottom and sides where it meets the bumper. Keep us posted. DM me if you need any assistance.

Remove tail lights. Loosen top screws for bumper cover. Adjust bumper fitment. Re-tighten (but don't over-tighten) top screws. Should be fine after that.

Thanks all! I’ll try re-fitting the bumper.
