I agree with you with most of what you wrote. The saving grace for the 997 GT3 market is that they didn’t make many of them. Also, IMHO the 997 GT3 is the last model before Porsche introduced more electronics into their cars and increase in size. And that Mezger..........I think eventually the market will stabilize but I don’t see the 997 GT3 returning to pre-Covid prices.

But the 997 will go down in history as the last, and best example of the "Driver's" 911. Will they exceed 993 pricing? Maybe.
EDIT: I'm trying to say that you can't lump all the crazy prices together and assume that because they all go up they will all go down. Vintage Acura NSX, Porsche 997, and maybe the Ferrari 458 are cars that are in a different class of desirability.
