Yeah, that's typical of speakers with foam at the edge of the cone
What are the impedance and power ratings on these speakers?

$68 is less than I imagined, for sure. Did they have to ship them, or in stock?

There are no markings on the speaker for impedance but the static resistance measures at 4ohms. Given that 6ohms is a non standards rating for a speaker (though they do exist).. It might be an 8ohm speaker.

A good speaker repair place can reform them if you wish to rather than replacing them. Look on Line .

at $130 bucks for a brand new pair I can't rationalize a repair.

Bass is back on baby! And I can confirm SPP 490's AMP is in fact under the passenger seat.
