Ohlins R&T vs. OEM PASM Shocks 997.1 GT3

I have a 2007 GT3 that has just over 25k miles on it. Wondering if the Ohlins Road and Track suspension setup would be a noticeable improvement over the stock 14 year old PASM shocks? My factory suspension still seems to be in good working order. The car probably sees 75% usage on track and 25% on street, although I only use it maybe once every 2-3 months the last few years. Would I see noticable track performance, easier to drive/tune the balance on the Ohlins or should I stay stock?

These are the easiest shocks to set up lol.
Set the heights with similar rake to your factory setup, don't lower more than they can handle (So you don't run out of travel, I'd go 1-2 finger gap from fender) and then set them to about 5-7 from full stiff and you'll be fine. On track you'll be running 1-3 from full stiff more than likely.

I have Ohlins on my .2 RS and on the street they are very compliant. I get lots of feedback with flat planted feel and still comfortable given the setup with solid bushings. Previous owner tracked the car a lot so I’m sure they do just fine at the limit. I personally have not tracked the car yet

if you are 75% track, you should buy the kw motorsport 3 ways i am selling. Significantly better than oem and ohlins r/t and still good on the street. Its the setup Emotion Engineering recommends

If your car is seeing the track 75% of the time and 25% daily, then I'd say to get a more track oriented coil. KW do make some more track focused coil.

Agree with others that you should upgrade to more serious dampers if your use case is mostly track. I’m running JRZs and they’ve been great on track and for autocross, while riding very nicely on the street. I had Ohlins R&T on my previous 996 Turbo. Decent product but not really track focused.

Would you see a noticeable improvement? Sure, to what degree that's up for discussion. Are you going to drop seconds off a lap time with ohlins R/T? Probably not.
As others suggested if you're going to replace the suspension in a 997GT3, which was specifically designed/engineered by Porsche with a different product, it better be some really good ****. Price range $8-15K, like the Ohlins TTX, KW V3 (motorsport/cup), JRZ (2-3way), MCS (2-4way), etc... Also, you'll want to buy a brand that your local service/suspension guy is familiar with for tuning/adjusting/setup purposes.
IMHO, I think you're better of working with what you have on track, becoming a better/skilled driver with the OEM suspension and then modify/replace the suspension if you think it is holding you back.

Thanks guys, main reason I was considering R&T was a good deal on a lightly used set popped up from a local. I ended up deciding to just stay stock, I may sell the car as I honestly don't even use it much.
