I have been wondering this for awhile, but haven’t been able to find good photos of the two. But why is the lower section of the door panels on Euro spec cars so different from US spec panels? Is it some sort of regulation I assume? Thanks.

I think the EU cars have airbags in the door while the US cars are in the seats?

 

ROW cars with the Carrera GT type seats w/o integrated airbags have those door panels.

I have to say this is the one instance where the grass isn't greener on the other side. I much prefer the door panels w/o airbags.
