You found the Y5DDC's? Where?
Also, is this for real? https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...170-129-90-OEM |

In my opinion, considering all Ferraris use NGK, Alfa, many Mercedes and others too, it's best to just get NGKs at this point-
The competition NGK as previously pointed, used on 997 Cup cars(and the 991 Cup cars that still used the Mezger engine) are over $100 each: https://www.fvd.net/us-en/shop?&term...0&fq%5B%5D=355 JB |
no budget, ngk motorsport/997 cup plugs, only $88 each @ fvd

thanks bud, def not going budget route. Found and ordered.
They better be the actual Bosch plug… that would be false advertising imo. I’m the weirdo that hoarded 12 - Y5DDC. |

I’ve got an extra OEM one in the drawer I’d send you but I won’t be home for a few weeks.

sunset and suncoast didn’t say the brand, just the part number. I’m hoping it’s not denso, maybe I should call and confirm. Funny the link you posted, says denso in description but pic says Bosch lmao

You’re not the only weirdo… I too grabbed 12 from the local BMW dealer when they started to become unobtanium. They were all to happy to unload all that they had.
I haven't asked around lately, to see if any more are available. Interested to hear your purchase results Fayraree |
I read this thread a few weeks back and started searching for a set of Y5DDC's over here in Europe. Some sellers list them but do not have them.
Then searched on the BMW part number and found a vendor that had a set of 6 in stock. Paid something like EUR 60,00 shipped for all six. Sadly that was the only set they had... |
Rockauto has the DCPR8EKC NGKs, stock number 7168 for $6.81 each:
https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/ng...park+plug,7212 https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...4f31f8a714.png The Platinum version, DCPR8EKP, stock number 7415, $8.07 each: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=70033&jsn=7 https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...e2fc5b105a.png Ferrari has a grip on spark plug sales like a cartel, the dealers. Rock auto is able to sell some from 2013 and before, but not for 458s. They sell the Platinum NGKs, which are a different size than the ones for GT3s-and because some BMWs also used the Bosch plugs, it explains why they're practically all gone since the plug is no longer made- If you own a 599, California, F430 and older cars, NGKs are available from rock auto for about $10. Bringing this up because Ferraris use Platinum version of NGKs- This is the thread where I spent quite a bit of time looking at all options for 997 GT3 cars: https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...7-1-gt3-3.html John |

It was ironic for me, back when you guys were all talking about unobtanium Y5DDC Bosch plugs, cuz I had just picked up 12 for my stash.

There were only 6 left when I ordered but I noticed the part number Dan provided has inventory in several online Porsche dealership parts stores. Thanks everyone for your advice! |
Ding! I'm at 48k miles and it's time for another set of plugs.
Last time I did plugs (@24k miles) I purchased a set of the now elusive, Y5DDCs. This time I purchased an ignition kit from ECS Tuning and it's not been going great. They've now sent me two sets of plugs, both of which have not fit. (BKR7EQUP and BKR6EKUB). Since I now have to become an expert on spark plug fitment (instead of the experts), it looks like our cars are 12mm thread diameter and they have been sending me 14mm. I'm sure you'll know this already and I'm late to the party, but a lot of online retailers have these NGKs as "fitting" the 997.1 GT3. Anyone have any luck getting plugs these days and what worked best? The DCPR8EKC NGKs? Thank you! |
Just did mine 2 days ago. Replaced with DCPR8EKC NGKs and there were/ are 0 issues. Purchased from NGK.com.
I’ll never buy from ECS personally. Back in my BMW days they seemingly could never get my order right and made it a hassle to return or exchange anything. |
