My center console 12v stays on all the time on my 997.1gt3

^^^ Very cool. Thanks for posting that link.

Recently I have been concerned that the clamp that comes standard on most of our detectors, are pinching the visors & might cause a permanent crease over time

That Blendmount looks good

Have used them in many cars. They work well.

At least in my experience in my last 997, they do take a way a small amount of visibility in certain situations, but I may have mounted it slightly too low. So I'm going to order one for my GT3 and V1 Gen 2 at some point. It's so nice never having to think about suction cups coming off.

There are plenty of coupons out there too for 10% off. Such as here. I try and support Vortex radar since he does provide a lot of great information to the radar detector community. The second link is directly to his referral link. First link has the second link included in it.

I permanently mounted my Uniden R3 in the gap between the driver's A-pillar and the sun visor.

It's an easy and reversible mod to use an "add-a-fuse" tap in the fuse box in the driver's footwell and fish the power cord out the top edge of the A-pillar trim.

The result is super clean and stealthy. You don't notice the detector tucked up there when viewing the car from most angles. It's also very easy to reach up and tap Mute or Mark (GPS enabled detector) to lock out annoying false signals.

I've installed another R3 in my Cayenne the same way. Once you get used to it, having a detector mounted up by the rear view mirror seems much more conspicuous/less clean.

I did mirrortap (found on blendmount site) into harness for the domelights / homelink. But use a simple adhesive mount point to the right of the dome lights for my Uniden R7
