Way too hard to put golf clubs in the back with a cage.

Can’t say it enough; your car, your money, do with both as you please.

Modify, and personalize them or keep them stock, but either way and whatever you do, please drive them!

True that. Most cars, including GT cars don't need a cage if you don't track so I have no shame in not having one. Risk is small, but in an extreme accident, arms flail and you could hit the bars in the rear area. Even worse, if someone isn't wearing their seat belt, greater chance of your head hitting something it normally wouldn't. But if you are not wearing your seat belt, I guess you have bigger issues than a cage. The biggest issue with a cage for me is the impractical nature, not the injury risk.

Thanks guys for all the input. Will likely get a roll bar in the future because “race car” and rounds out the poser in me. Just excited to get the car. Will get it from FVD along with pre cut carpet they offer likely in the spring. Likely will just go with a semi gloss black.

consider said roll bar as jewelry for the car!

Should I leave it stock or put a nice roll bar in while it’s still at Isringhausen? Will it detract from value etc?
This the one that Isringhausen had? I bought the Black Grey one they had.

I have a red GMG cage in mine. I get more positive comments on that than anything else. I think to the general public, a roll cage in a Porsche is kinda like "holy ****". Everytime I get gas some guy walks up and says, damn, its got a rollcage.
Maybe its just a guy thing.

I've had cars with cages and plenty more without. For a street driven car I prefer no cage. Neither of my 911 GT cars have cages, and I wouldn't think to install them either. I'm also a weight weenie, and if something weighs 'any' amount more than OEM, I generally don't want it.

That being said, the more you plan to track the car at HPDE days or airport runways, the cage starts to make more sense. It's just not for me.

You already know how I feel about your newly acquired white/gold beauty!

people don't really need watches anymore, let alone one that's in the 5-figure arena - everyone carries a phone and it shows you the time every time you touch it

I don't golf, so clubs space doesn't matter (to me)

I never buy so much stuff that I need the back space for hauling - so that doesn't matter either

if I get a chance to buy a ROW 996 GT3RS ( they were not sold here), I'm guessing they all came with a roll bar (please chime in - I'd like to know). If it does, I'm not removing it to save weight for street driving

as it was stated above - YOUR car, do what YOU want

I don’t think there’s a wrong answer. And especially if it’s more for looks than track, there are plenty of options that don’t touch your carpet behind the seats (attach to seat belt anchor) and you can easily replace the shelf carpet where you HAVE to pierce the carpet; that is an easy fix. Replacing the carpet behind/under the seats is quite a bit more of an undertaking. Again, I don’t think it matters a ton given it’s mostly for visual effect. And, for those poser-shaming a street-only RS with a cage, come on, it’s a poser car all around. If you were really hard-core tracking it, aren’t there dozens of things you’d buy ahead of it?? It is incredible fun on street and track and compromised for either/or compared to a more singular purpose car.
