Wing/ Decklid airbox conversion?

Wing/ Decklid airbox conversion?
Hey guys!
I bought a 2005 Carrera base with ceramic IMS fix. Very low mileage (38k).
However, I just realized that the wing I like so much (not trying to make a fake GT3, previous owner specced it like this from dealer, and I like the wing) was either mated to a GT3 hood, or came as a full assembly (looks like a legit GT3 hood and wing).
This means that the trunk fan has been deleted, and there is an opening that goes straight into the intake snorkle.
This also means that the ram air is not hooked up, since it's on the other side. I'm worried about water getting into the engine (is this an issue?), as well as robbing power since the air isn't direct.
My question is, are there any products to rectify this? Or is there a solution anyone else has done?
I would be more apt to adapt something like an aftermarket airfilter/fan, or a GT3 airbox if possible. Worst case I would have to trade for a stock hood assembly and get a wing.
Thanks!

I kind of did the opposite of what you have on your car and installed a Carrera decklid on my GT3. The lessons learned are that the differences in physical engine size, configuration, layout, and packaging between a Carrera and GT3 mean it is not a direct swap. You are better off buying a GT3 replica wing made specifically for your car so you don't have to modify your airbox and addenda. Otherwise, you are looking at modifying a GT3 airbox to fit your engine bay, buying a GT3 decklid fan, decklid harness, etc. I wouldn't be as worried about water getting into your engine bay, but your performance may be suffering due to intake restrictions with your current setup, in addition to being more vulnerable to overheating without the fan. I hope this helps and best of luck.

Awesome, very helpful.
Do you think there would be someone here willing to trade?
I was looking at the K&N GT3 intake, and it looks like it'd probably fit with some mods, but who knows. I am just worried about getting a stock replacement hood and having the replica wing be kinda janky as opposed to this legit OEM one.

Post this on the Non GT forum as those members don't have this lid and some would probably want it.

You can probably get decent money for your GT3 wing. If I were you, I would sell it and take the proceeds and buy a wing made for a Carrera. There are a lot of quality options out there. It would be plug and play and no modifications required.
