There's no way I would run a 265 front unless it was with a 315 rear. I may try a 235 or 245 and 295 RS4

I have the RS4 on my 410 RWHP 944 turbo, and my air cooled 911. Both cars I had to step down to a narrower tire than I wanted because of sizing availability for vintage wheels. Both cars seem to work really well on them! Very pleased so far. Those tires seem to run physically wide in most sizes, so that may help your limited selection for rears.
