Default Anyone paint or powder-coat the stock wheels black?

.2 GT3 / White

Not sure if black looks good on the stock wheels?
The other thought was changing the center-locks to black to give it a little pop.
Stock wheels are pretty nice, but I always like dark wheels with a white car.

Any input or pics is appreciated.

I had the factory wheels painted "Porsche High Gloss Black" on my 997.1 GT3. They turned out great and the painted method was very durable.

Thanks.

Did you paint or wrap your mirrors?

@405 nice accents to the car as they certainly compliment it (I like the choice of the gloss black for the wheels). Any additional pictures of the rear and spoiler (looking for a slightly better angle of the black you added to the spoiler)? Appreciate it in advance.

I am making an appointment to do it when swapping tires, going to go gloss black.
Probably going to keep grey center-lock caps as I have not ordered black ones yet.

Will post pics after they are done.

Thanks for input!

Can the center-lock cap also be painted?

Good question, not sure, I was going to ask the shop, but having looked over a lot of photos, a different color center-lock looks pretty cool IMO.

I might do satin or flat black with keeping stock centers. You can order new centers for about $550.

Impossible to paint the center locks. As soon as you'd put them on, the tool would destroy the paint.
As far as painting or powder coating the wheels, wheel shops and some body shops can do it, but areas like the center lock mating surface, tpms/valve and back of the wheel need to be protected-
I prefer gloss black-

OK, good to know, my shop asked me if I wanted them painted. I said to leave them alone.

I ordered new black center locks from Suncoast Porsche to go with my black wheels. Ditto with making sure you protect the center lock mating surface, TPMS area, and back of the wheel where it mounts to the hub. You can only get black "GT3" dust caps for the 991 that need to be slightly modified in order to fit 997 center locks. I got those from Suncoast too. Check out my build thread or PM me for details. If you're going with black wheels, I think black center locks and dust caps look good.

My .1 GT3 is white with gloss black powder coated wheels. It looks identical to 405's car above so I figured no need to post another pic. I love the way it looks on white and they seem to be holding up well. Full disclosure they were already done when I bought the car so not sure exactly how many miles are on them since being powder coated.
