Awesome looking Elise! I used to owned a Lotus Exige and these Elise’s/Exige’s are some of the some fun cars to drive. The one car I most regret selling. Congrats!

Picture of me and my boys taking the Elise and 914 out for a run in 2007. Still have the 914 (original owner since 11/70) and wish I still had the Elise. Closest thing to a new 914 and with a bullet proof Toyota engine! Damn that thing was fun... Had it for about 2 years and had no issues with it. (and one of the few cars that makes a 914 look big)

The s2000 has an amazing engine, handles great out of the box. I added a better diff to help with low end torque.

My biggest challenge with the s2000 was lack of low end coming out of turns, the weight of 2800lbs, and the numb steering. It's a fast track car, but it doesn't build confidence like the lotus. The rear on the s2000 doesn't give much warning before it lets go... and it goes fast. Since it doesn't have a lot of torque, I couldn't power out of the slide.

I think anyone can jump in a lotus and feel comfortable going fast. Now a non supercharged Elise probably has similar power delivery as an s2000.
