Cleaning alcantara

Started off quite dirty with heavy matting and grease/oils from hands.

Sonax alcantara cleaner
Colourlock sanding pad
Leather brush

Quickly spritz with warm water. Easy does it. No need to soak down.

Few pumps of sonax cleaner

Light scrub. No pressure. Let the brush do the work. Repeat around entire wheel.

Let sit for 10-20 mins. Spritz down a microfiber towel and start to dry wheel. Squeezing motion versus rubbing vigorously.

It’s dirty!!! Repeat until all dirt is picked up.

Short strokes to take off the ***** of alcantara. Just watch and do carefully. After you’ve lightly sanded blow out with compressed air. This will stand the fibers of alcantara back up.

Finished product. Remember not to overthink as alcantara is quite durable. All products can be bought on obsessed garage website. He has great videos to show techniques to clean up your car. Use the entire process on the interior as well. Works wonders on seats/door panels as well.

Nice work!
I use the Sonax as well. I have also had good luck removing the ***** with a electric sweater ball cleaner....
now I am curious how much dirt is embedded in my steering wheel....

Very nice! My wheel is super dirty, the yellow stripe is not very yellow anymore. I will try this approach
