997.2 RS - which exhaust setup?
Hi, which exhaust setup is recommended for 997.2 RS ?
My OEM TI cracked, welded and so far OK now thinking about side muffler delete.
OEM TI center + side muffler delete - good idea ? Better to keep stock ?
Which your experiences with 997.2 RS exhaust setups?

Safest, most popular is some center bypass. OEM Ti + side delete probably won't give you much sound difference but will eliminate a large source of heat around the rear wheels.

my goal is reliable, weight saving and last sound improving

Removing the side mufflers will yield the greatest weight savings but would assume it will increase heat downstream (i.e. crack your rear muffler again). Center bypass will shed a little weight vs the Ti muffler and give a 'better' sound (obviously subjective, but I haven't heard of anyone hating that modification).

If I were you I'd go for the center bypass first. It's cheaper, does save a bit of weight, and allows you to safely ditch your center muffler. It sounds great and allows you to retain your factory valved exhaust. I've had mine installed for probably 5 years now and still love it.
If you really want to do maximum weight reduction, it's certainly not the top answer. I will eventually run a full Kline Inconel exhaust on mine but that is more because of my relationship with Kline and to keep a promise I made a few years ago...they are the most amazing vendor that I've ever worked with (I had one of their Inconel systems on a different platform and have always missed it). Plenty of great options are out there for you though, and doing side muffler deletes into a standard GT3 muffler is also a very good option that offers a lot of weight reduction, sound, and keeps a more robust rear muffler in place.
Best wishes of course, and keep us posted!

I have a 997 cup car system for sale. https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1196284 it gets rid of the side mufflers and has 100 cell cats.

Topic is exhausting. Go cat-less long tube headers into straight pipes, loudest and don’t think anyone here runs that combo so you’d be very unique. No drone either.

Keep in mind, my car is a 997.1RS but it has a 4.15L we built, with grand-am intake. Nevertheless, this is exactly what it sounds like:
