Anyone know where to get the factory 4.0 canards? Looks like suncoast no longer carries them.. How close to factory are the FVD ones?

Been there already. I tried Gert at Carnewal to no avail as well. Porsche themselves are out and I believe these will fall into the category of who knows when they will be back if ever. I have a set of the 4.0 composite copy dive planes from FVD and I personally don't think they are finished as nice as the carbon pieces from Porsche. They are the exact shape and made from the same mold for sure they just don't have the same finish work and sharpness (a little wavy). If you find some factory ones I am in. But I looked hi and low..

My plan would be to have them painted... thing that’d clean up some of the finish? Any pics of what they look like?

It really depends on how picky you are. They will paint up nice. The surface is fine. It’s the edges that are not as crisp or the overall line that is not as crisp. From 10ft you’d never know. From 12” you might. But they are easy enough to take off if you don’t like them.

I’ll try to get a pic up for you..

Hi Ray,

I looked into them as well, here is the link to the 997 GT3 piece that Demon Speed makes:

https://www.demonspeedmotorsports.co...diveplanes.htm

These are 997 GT3 only, not RS, which I am told has a different shape fascia and leaves a gap. They told me they would possibly look into making them. Never heard back..

Have you considered sending an email to Joe? You can't be the only person who wants some of these? He does good work!

I was told by a woman at Demonspeed she would forward to Joe. Do you know how to reach him directly? I’d put in the effort to see if there is enough interest to make it worth Joe’s time...

Good morning all. I have forwarded this link to Joe. I am sure he will either post here or provide me feedback.

I will guess that the issue is not that he is not interested in making them. Or that he feels that the market is not large enough to make a mold financially feasible.

The issue is going to be more about having a car to work with. Joe would need to have a GT3 RS at his shop or local to him to create the pattern.

Thanks

Ed

Thank you Ed! I’m sure the one of the great Rennlist members could make that happen somehow. Where is the location? I have a feeling the demand is there for a direct replacement for a 4.0 Canard.

By the phone number listed on his FB page, looks like he's in British Columbia

How much do the dive planes help on a street based GT3? I have cup lip but no cup wing or anything. Do they just stick on with 3M adhesive?
