997.2 GT3 RS Guard LSD Worth It?
#16
I have ordered the Guard internals and will be installing soon. Being in the Middle East our season runs autumn to spring so will be able to experience on tract after September. For me stability under braking is the most important feature i look for. getting on the power early will also come in handy but driving a 3.6 gen 1 GT3 that's not really an issue in most cases. i run my sway bars middle both front and rear, and also run Ohlins R&T suspension. i will be putting the front one at 1 off full soft when the diff goes in.

Thanks guys for the feedback! I decided to get one and tried calling and emailing guard transmission and they seemed to be closed. If anyone is selling one or knows of anybody selling it, please let me know!

guard does not sell direct. You have to go through one of their authorized installers.

Wish I knew who Guard's dealer was there, perhaps you can find out from Guard. It's the only way you'll be able to purchase one of their units.

OK! quick question
I've purchased a new Guard LSD and before I do the install I wanted to know ? Do I need new Carrier bearings?? what else do you need to complete the install into a GT3 997.2

Bought from a Porsche parts middle man when I got the essex brakes and 4.0 clutch - I just asked him for the LSD however I'm wondering ( and searching didnt turn anything up ) what parts are also needed?

Burning Brakes
For street driving, not worth it at all. I wouldn't even pin the coolant lines for street driving unless you are pulling motor for some other reason. My lines are pinned for track use and I have the Guard for track use.

Burning Brakes
After all the effort to get it out on the bench, I would invest in the bearings.
