Default Can DME REPORT be cleared!???

I’m asking because there is a suspiciously clean 2007 GT3 RS on bring a trailer right now that seems a little fishy to me.

My 2007 white GT3 also has zero in all ranges also. Nothing strange about that.

If i was ready to pounce, I'd be bidding. It's uber clean and beautiful.

Go get it!

I think if the DME is replaced the total hours will not match up with the miles and average speed.

I.e. average speed would be much higher than a normal car. Depending on at what hours it was replaced of course.

Totally possible. my 997RS had all 0s in all ranges and all data matched and only 1 programming operation. BTW, watch the Doug video, he's helpful.
Well it did until i made a boo boo and got a handful of range 1s...

On the 997 you can bounce the rev limiter all day and not get range 1+ hits.

Range 1 over revs start at 9k. Redline is 8400. Range 1 is a mis shift.

Average speed of 39mph. Doesn't seem too low. You have to remember though, a lot of these cars have 0 range 1's. That is not strange for a GT3. If there were 0 range 1's on a Carrera S then yes, that would be surprising.

You need to polish your car wee bit.

There are plenty of black market tools that will clear or over write hours and mileage. The best way to determine is to look at the freeze frame data of codes in all modules as sometimes they store mileage of past errors. I have seen a car with 20k show a error for a bad bulb in headlight module at 90k miles.

Exactly what he said, esp. with error codes: they're logged into the fault memory with a "first + last occured at operating hour" entry. The "hour counter" here is drawn from a redundant part of the ECU which is normally not touched by black market programmers.

You can force a check by unplugging a module (say PASM) and checking if the fault is logged at the same hour as your current DME . In the PIWIS versions I'm familiar with, faults are shown against hours (not mileage). YMMV, perhaps with a different PIWIS system.

40mph lifetime average appears sensible. Zero overrevs R1 thru R6 doesn't really say much, as ideal as it may sound. "Babied" cars do exist, but perhaps you wouldn't want to pay a premium based on one such assumption.

Good luck with your car hunt in any case!!
