Default Going rate for 997.1 GT3 wheels/tires?

Ran a search and couldn't come up with anything.

I'm sitting on 3 sets of wheels in my garage right now and don't think I'll go back to stock ever and if I did sell my car it would be modified. Might want to let these go to clear some space.

Thanks!

Most that I see are around $4k. Can’t remember if most of them include tires or not but I think most do.

I am not in the market now, but I think at some point I will be. Currently have mine powder coated black and would like to have a stock silver set as it came.

Most of the ones I have seen with tires with decent tread remaining are ~$4k. Have seen a couple sets without tires for 3k-3500.

The question with pricing is if you want to sell or not sell. Plenty list without tires for 3-3500, don't know anyone who's actually paid that. FWIW I sold my stock wheels for $2500. Could I have held out for 3k, maybe, but my time was worth more to me than the hassles that come over trying to price $500 higher. There was a local set to me for 4K with tires that sat for 3 months because the seller wasn't flexible on price.

I was searching for a stock set of .2 Titanium-color non-RS last year, and gave up. never pulled the trigger,... mostly because I was looking for a set in perfect condition & could not find anything. Most that had rash were in the $3k range without tires.

I am strongly considering going to 18" in the widebody GT3RS setup since they will mainly be used for track use. Anyone have experience with that on a turbo? 255 35 18 up front and 315 30 18 in the back which keeps the ratio within spec?

@bweSteve , I don't know the going rate but these seem to be a good deal even if you had to spend some $ to refinish.

^^ Thnx Widers, but I was hoping to not purchase a set which had already been refinished or even partially refinished (2 rear rims) as seller indicates.

I'm sure there are many wheel shops out there that can refinish these with top quality,... but I have preference to the original Porsche process for finishing.

I believe the price is reflective of the prior refinishing, as well as a few "chips & scratches" as seller indicates. It's a good price, but not for me to just have sitting on my garage shelves for the future day that mine are deminished.

Plus, I will also add that there is a strange rash beginning on my rims, that only seems to be occurring on the very inside edge of only ONE side of each spoke. It is as if the air circulating around inside the rim (as vehicle is moving) causes any pebbles or sand debris to be funneled out through just that one area of the rim. This would make sense given the design of these rims, that Porsche designed a air exit flow to decrease wheel well pressures.

Has anyone else seen this rash start to form on their rims? I will see if I can grab a picture of this from one of my rims soon & post it.

So @widers911 you can see that if & when I were to consider a set of rims as backup, I would also want to see that inside edge of each spoke too,... which would be a pain for any seller to take & post or send. Hence why I kinda gave up.

Maybe @voodoo can chime back in & post on what he sees with the 3 sets of these rims he has.

Bumping an old thread. Cleaned the garage this weekend and moved these wheels to another location for the 10th time. I've realized I really have no use for them. If anybody is interested shoot me a line. I am in Corona, CA.

997.1 GT3 wheels in silver with fresh Hankook rubber.
