Template 4.0 Dive Planes
Fellas-
I remember seeing a post or thread about using a template to insure proper placement. Any idea where a guy can find this? Is there a PDF etc.? Thanks for any leads..

Great timing on this request. I'm getting back my freshly painted GR dive planes next week. Since I'm OCD with things like this looking perfect a placement template would be ideal.

Fantastic. Spoke to sharkwerks and they said there isn't an official template. He had (4) 4.0s lined up at once time and eyebrows were all in slightly different locations. I should be getting mine back next week and will slap em on.

I installed a pair recently. I called three master techs and all three said there's no factory template. I then tried to mimic the position of the dive planes from the magazine photos of the press release cars but that leaves an air gap between the dive plane and the bumper(see pic below).
There's only a few possible positions that doesn't leave an air gap between the two parts. So I mocked up and installed one side, then made reference points(edge of corner lamp, seam line to front spoiler, and seam line to flare) it measure in millimeters, then duplicated the other side down to the millimeter.
I keep mocking it up, measuring, used masking tape and fine point pen to indicate reference marks. The whole process look me 2 hours. The three master techs said that's the same method they use.

Tom, the bottom of the dive plane seems to be in the right spot but the top is a bit forward and angled more vertically.
This is the proper placement. I've installed OEM dive planes at least half a dozen times on 2 different cars and this is the perfect spot with no gaps.

Thanks for the pic. It definitely had a gap on the car that I working on. Applying pressure to close the gap did not feel right.

Anyone know if the OE 4.0 units fit without gaps on a 997.1 bumper?

Gent's,
Is Suncoast the only place to find these? I think it is for OE 4.0 dive planes. Per usual is their pricing the best? Dealer says they can't touch it..

Check out Carnewal, they have them for much less than Suncoast. I have bought from them before and they are great to deal with: http://www.carnewal.com/products/997....0-Dive-Planes
