I am curious what you guys would choose? and why?

997, because you drive the car not computer.
No track or daily NO need for any 991.

If you are on this sub forum, the answer is never PDK.

Legitimately tough question for me on a GT2. GT3 it’s easy 997 all day. GT2? Not so easy. The new car is an instant classic and much better for high speed comfort and can break a lap record. Good luck..

^^^^^this all day long, you drive the car, not the other way around!
I have had about 6-7 991 GT variants and couldn’t hold onto any of them for longer than 5-6 months tops, not true of 997’s.

997 GT2 RS.
First GT2 (turbo) RS.
500 units - limited production.
Manual.
Mezger.

Like 997 body much better than 991.

Track speed / handling / shifting suits 991 - but ^ says no track.

Both will land you in jail but i think 997 would be more fun on the street.

This is the answer I have discovered as well. The 997 GT2 is by far and away the car right now. I just picked one up as a matter a fact.

Let's start with production numbers:
991GT2RS - 1,330
997 GT3RS 4.0 - 158
997 GT2RS - 141
997 GT2 - 237
997 GT3RS - 453

Any model stand out as higher production than the rest?

How about current value?
991 GT2RS - $300+
997 GT3RS 4.0 - $400+
997 GT2RS - $400+
997 GT2 - $200-ish
997 GT3RS - $150-ish

Interesting how some of the 997s remain more coveted than their 991 successors. Much has been written about that. Wont re-hash here. What stands out here in this comparison I think is the obscene relative value of the "regular" 997 GT2 compared to the other models, especially if you HATE centerlocks! Dont even get me started on centerlocks! All the CL street cars have poeseur aluminum centerlocks that cant take an impact wrench like the cup cars can with their steel CLs. Not too many DE's require 20 second pit stops! Dont be a poeseur!

997 for involvement. 991 for speed.

Are your production numbers NA only?

997 GT2 is 1242
997.1 GT3 RS is 1106
997.2 GT3 RS is 1500
997 GT3 RS 4.0 is 600

Again, 997 GT2 RS is 500. Lowest production variant of all 997 GT cars.

(996 GT3 RS is 682 units)

There is no bigger fan of 997's than myself. Hell, I sold two different 991's to go back to 997's. If you have driven the new 991 GT2 and feel this way more power to you. But to dismiss it like we do 991 GT3's I think is a mistake. I am really surprised at the pushback on the new GT2, it's an all timer. Low build quantity is not always the way to go.

Yes, NA numbers only. Data hard to come by since not official. Total 991 GT2RS worldwide is ~3,700 according to this thread. Where do your WW 997 numbers come from?
