thinking 2010 GT-RS any comments?
was looking seriously at 2016 but 2010 pop up and price and seller easier to work with. I wasn't in love with thought of spending $180k plus for 2016 but that was were market was at for options i wanted. now 2010 is on mind- Manual with low miles and service details.
anyone want to promote or dissuade me from moving on this model year or have a suggestion on what model year to buy with $160k to spend? prefer 2010 or newer
Thank you Steve

Steve G, care to give us a bit more on where you're coming from (cars you've owned that gave you the thrill)?
Of course I agree with all here on the superior engagement and ownership experience of the 997.2 GT3RS, especially over a 991 PDK,... but just wondering how / why you were comparing those 2 cars.
And I guess the question of whether you've driven either or both is mute at this point if you are already in negotiations. But seriously you should drive the 991 RS EVEN if you end up buying the 7. It'll give you appreciation for why you made the right decision!!

991 and 997 RS's are night/day different cars. Biggest leap Porsche has ever made on changing the formula for an RS. I like them both for different uses. but they are MUCH MUCH different animals. I don't think u can go wrong either way. They are both some of best track-oriented street cars ever made. I think the 997 has more of the "special fairy dust" sprinkled on the drive experience. But the 991 Rs's are insanely capable, durable and functional. They are probably "better" cars but not as emotional or PITA. But the PITA component is part of what makes the 997 a more special experience.
