Differences in clutch feel for 997.1 vs 997.2 GT3???

If you think the RS is bad (I currently have a 997.1 pumpkin), then you should try the Ferrari F40. That was a heck of a beast to depress. My Dodge 1-ton Cummins is easier than either of these two - probably due to the length of throw being very long, and a pedal arm about a foot long (more leverage)on the Dodge. I guess if you want a shorter clutch throw, then you put up with the increased force to depress.

From my experience both the 997.1 and 997.2 clutches feel identical. When the clutch is new it feels relatively light and gets stiffer as it wears. When I first got my car the clutch was insanely heavy. I replaced all the parts with the 4.0 conversion and relatively speaking it become day and night lighter. In either case, light or heavy, for me, the car's transmission and clutch engagement are less than idea for daily driving. It's tolerable but not that fun, certainly nothing like a Honda S2000 gearbox.
Now the new GT4 and 991.2 GT3 gearboxes feel way smoother and the clutch is incredibly light compared to 997.

I have another issue which I haven't got to the bottom of, when hot it is difficult to put into reverse and 1st gear, fine when cold but .....? I've tried new fluid but no difference, anyone else get this ?

On my previous 2007 RS I had a super stiff clutch pedal when I first got the car with 7k miles, it was so bad that i thought I will break the clutch pedal then it started squeaking. Went to the dealer, they removed the transmission and found that the previous owner must have slipped the clutch like a total idiot, burned the clutch and distributed a ton of clutch dust which clogged the clutch fork bearing as well as the moving surface the throw out bearing moves on. After it was all cleaned up, dust removed and new pressure plate, clutch disk and flywheel installed, it was a 100 times easier to depress the clutch pedal - no comparison.

I was at an autocross this weekend and able to go straight from my .2 GT3 to a GT4. The GT4 was at least slightly easier to push subjectively, but it was definitely still heavy.
I didn't realize the turbos had a hydraulic pump. That seems like a terrible idea on a car that one might own out of warranty.
