Default My New 997.2 RS

Beyond excited. My RS is in route from DDW Partners in AZ. Quick shout out to Ryan, the owner, for an easy transaction.

A brief history - I picked up a 991 GTS cab in oct 2015 and it has been an incredible ownership experience right from my first drive up the CA coast.
https://rennlist.com/forums/991/9012...nia-coast.html

Over the last few years I have been actively searching for a 991.2 GT3 and recently a 1.2 RS to pair with the GTS. I was struggling with the idea of having too many similarities between the two 991 models so I shifted my search to AC 993s thinking that the older school feel would provide more contrasting driving experiences.

I was able to drive a few and even drove a 356 but after my testing it just wasn't for me right now. Part of it was performance and part of it was just a gut feel that I would be happier in a WC GT car.

After a recent test drive I spoke to a member selling a 993 for 3 hours or so. Luckily he had several cars to look at and I was really amazed with the shape and look of the 997.1 RS. I started doing a lot of research and came to the conclusion that the 997.2 RS was the car. Hydraulic steering, SMFW and just more of a raw experience. Very different from the PDK GTS Cab and seemed to be under the radar price wise when comparing it to its 4.0 bigger brother.

I went from not liking the graphics and red wheels to 'getting over' the graphics to now being really excited about them. If you are going to go RS, Why not have it be a crazy over the top winged beast. The wife thinks I'm nuts but I promised to keep it hidden and away from our towns main st.

I wanted to also thank Larry Cable, Mooty, ///Blacklabel, superfast02911, Porsche911GTS'16, DM1, joejenie and satoru who were awesome to talk with during this process.

I'm new to this car and have an ongoing list of future todos from my fellow enablers but for now I'm just going to drive and enjoy....

Congrats! If we can’t have a 4.0 we all usually end up here. Welcome to the club.

Well done! Very smart to not go into another 991 car. The 997 is a different driving experience altogether.
I got the air-cooled bug out of me after owning a 964 turbo. Like you, it just wasn't for me.

Great! that really confirms the decision. Looking forward to getting some mileage tomorrow. Delivery delayed to tomorrow due to transport delay.

Awesome car! You made the right decision and purchased the right car. There are a lot of duds on the market.

nice pick up.

one of the first mods might be the right spec'd RS tires sizes. those look like nb gt3 sizes and not the spec'd 325 and 245. i could be wrong...
