Pricing 997.2: how much of a discount without buckets?
My wife has been looking on and off for a 997.2, and think I have found one that fits the spec and condition we both want. It has mileage but is also exceptionally clean. The only downside is lack of buckets; my wife has them in her GT4, and she loves the seats. I think the 18-ways will be fine, but what kind of discount should I be pricing in for an 18-way equipped car? On a GT4, it is around $4k. Having driven a GT4 with and without buckets, there is a massive difference in feel with those seats vs sofas. I have only driven a GT3 with sofas, but it is a much different, firmer ride.

As you can probably tell 997. GT3s with buckets are scarce in the market today. Most GT3s on the market are sofas, but for RS most of them have buckets. For GT3s, if there are ones with buckets, its generally 10k+ more in price from what I have seen. But I could be wrong.

zero discount IMO (of course you can ask)
not as many bucket (as mentioned above) in the 997s
not as many bucket (as mentioned above) in the 997s

right.... I think it's the case that you see so few for sale with buckets installed that the market pricing we typically see is for the sofas. I think the buckets might be an *adder* to typical market prices, or at least leverage for the seller to pass on negotiations against asking price.

^^^ This.
doubting you can take $10k off anyone's 997.2 GT3 pricing just because it does not have buckets,... not even $4k.
plus so many other factors going into pricing based on other Spec'd options and mileage. All things being equal I'd expect you could pay ~ $4k more for one with buckets.
just imo & .02 (& thus not really worth much).

ya, I think the challenge is finding a clean car to your liking . . . seats can be an easy afterthought.

Kind of an odd idea that it would be a discount. I agree with the above that buckets usually make them more desirable, but add them later if you like the car. Pairs pop up in the classifieds from time to time around 7k or so

Buckets aren't standard in 997 so no discount but you will pay a premium for the buckets on top of normal market price. I'm still kicking myself for not paying the guy I bought my 997.1 from another 5k for CGT buckets.
