If anyone has a 997 GT3 in the NE please let me know. I am actively looking for something in the $70-$80k range. Higher mileage examples are welcome and would even consider accident/salvage title for the right price. Any color considered. I am not a dealer, but rather a fellow enthusiast that is working with a budget and would love to get into one of these fantastic cars.

GLWSearch - you're almost there (IMO), you may need to move up a bit, 80 or 85 as I have not seen anything in the 70s for years (post recession)

I am located in nj. I am finding some in the $68-75k area, but all have an accident history and higher mileage, around 50k . How badly does accident history effect the resale value of these cars?

I have a 997.1 driver. Has an "incident" on the record. Also has 46k miles. Needed some work when I got it. I love it and I am actually glad I didnt pay 75+ for a cherry car. Makes ownership so much more fun when you are not worried about resale. I put 300 miles on it last weekend getting a milkshake.

I would not be worried about miles. These cars were built to drive. My GT3 has 80,000 kms and runs cars I've driven with 1/4th the mileage.
I would, however, be wary of a car with a major accident for the simple fact that re-sale will be VERY difficult. As is, these cars are relatively difficult to move.

my 1st p-car was a 1980 911 SC, when I got rid of it, it had 178K miles. These cars are drivers.
Located in Ohio, my 2008 GT3 cobalt blue has 61K miles on it, has had little paint work (no accidents that I am aware of, or reported), looks and drives strong - was a $128K MSRP car.
I wouldn't entertain discussion of it for less than $85, and the fact that it's a strong 3.6L mezger, it's not something I want to ditch. BUT, something has to go - likely the GT4
