Agree on the car but not on Jerry. As entertainers go, in my book Jerry is tops. That guy has brought a ton of laughter to my life over the years and has stayed out of politics etc.. he's awesome..... McQueen... zero - don't know even one of his lines. Jerry is a prolific Porsche collector and McQueen a driver... both car guys I get. Jerry would probably say "I'm no McQueen"

I personally would have liked the car a lot better if it had no or a few options - I can never understand the desire to load up cars whose whole point is to be bare bones .

I agree with jtaylor and crex. There is a near perfect comp for this story that played out 7 years before the 4.0. In fact Porsche adopted a nearly identical explosion of red and black alcantara in the interior. It also had a stripe option and could be painted any color. Most 4.0s are white, most Challenge Stradales are one of two shades of red. The same rule applies in the secondary market for both. If you option out what makes the car special you will suffer a hit in value. And that's cool. Everyone should order what they want.

As for Seinfeld and McQueen. I've never met McQueen and my only experience with Seinfeld was a conference call. However imo comparing a super rich collector to McQueen is ludicrous. McQueen gambled his career and fortune to make Le Mans. He finished second at Sebring. His Lusso fetched 2.5x market when it sold at auction. If you give me Seinfeldesque money and I can't build a prolific Porsche collection then I'm an idiot. Seinfeld is no McQueen. JBO

u would love my 4.0 then,
however, while clinically clean and fastidiously maintained, it's got 15xxx near redline miles ;-)

Totally agree. I love the black 4.0 w/black wheels and red interior. If i got bored w/my pedestrian white-on-black, I'd swap for a black-on-red for sure. Biggest problem is that I'm too lazy to keep a black car clean. And I'm too lazy to go thru the brain damage for the trade. And i get lazier every year. Cause in the end, every color combo drives the same once behind the wheel.

Anyway, I love your car and am often tempted to add or swap for a spec very similar to yours.

Best thing that I did to my black 4.0 was get a full wrap with coating on the wrap...it's soooooo easy to keep clean and the best part, no swirl marks.

This thread brings back awful memories of passing on a new 4.0 at my dealer for sticker. However everyone who knew the car shared the opinion it was the worst optioned 4.0 in the country. Had I known I would have kept it forever I would have rectified the options issues I often wonder where that car landed. Anyway I agreed with the gang. The black 4.0 for sale is simply awesome. GLWS! Words I honestly never thought I'd hear in my life...haha. Thank you and I have to agree with you.

If someone doesn't grab it soon I will probably change my mind and keep it. That's happened a time or two before.. lol
