Are 996 and 997 control arms interchangeable?

I need to replace my rear control arms and looking at different options. It appears that a lot of aftermarket control arms (which I do not want) seem to have the same part for both front and rear and more interestingly for 996 and 997. Which leads me to believe that 996 and 997 arms might have the same geometry. Assuming I use the center hole on the main bushing could I use 2 piece GT3 996 front arms on my rear side (997.2).
Any insight is greatly appreciated.

I would think that front and rear are the same. The 20mm longer part is used to avoid using to many spacers. Typically you will see the smaller ones. Search under Powderhound - pretty sure he has pictures.

Lots of variants on these arms. All 996 and 997 arms are interchangeable. The ones pictured below are the 997 Porsche Motorsport arms. The body of the arm is 5mm shorter than the 996 arms. The 997 "smooth" are are forged, the "rough" finish ones are not. The inner bearing joints are available in two lengths, short or long. The difference is 14mm if I recall off the top of my head. The short inners are pictured and is what you would normally run on a 996/997 street car, both front and rear. The long versions are used on Cup and RSRs, sometimes in the front or read depending on application.
