I just switched from a 996 GT3 to a T. I drove the 996 mostly on track and some around town and even with Ohlins R&T coilovers, it is not around town car but a focused track car. I am doing less track days and I wanted something that I would drive more on a daily basis. Only drove the the 996 2k miles last year. I live in Houston and our streets are concrete and not asphalt so very hard and it takes 45min to get to decent country roads.

In the 996, I had to drive it between 4-7000 rpm for optimum performance. The T was unique enough for me to make the switch, Limited production and only car w LWB outside of GT cars, limited slip, shorter gearing, no pain in the a$$ centerlocks, etc. Many will say it is a parts car, and it is, but so is the GT4.

After driving the car on two short trips, first impressions are great. Car looks great, modern interfaces, and drives well. On the one Road in Houston with twisters, drove it into corner, downshift 3-2, full throttle from 2500rpm, car hooks up and accelerate fast. Feels great. Steeering is good and precise
since new, only accelerated to 5k rpm but car is responsive and increased torque is really nice around town.

I say, if most of your driving is in town vs track or country roads, the T may be a better car for you.

Internally I agree with all above who feel you would regret letting the GT3 go. Externally I’m going to say get the T and send me your CGT seats

Your GT3 looks awesome. Keeper.

Cheers

Not sure what you mean?
The harness is tucked away because I don't plan to do track days the next months.

Thanks

^Very nice Carrera T.

OP: your GT3 looks really nice. I say if you're looking for something different, do it. The Carrera T is one of the few new Porsches that really interests me. If you do a lot of track days or you want a weekend only car I would keep the GT3, if you're looking for a daily driver I say get the Carrera T.
