Default Cup front splitter indtall 997.2 GT3

For those who have installed the CUP front lip on a GT3 7.2, what do you do about the screw on the fender edge, in front og the wheel? Hole is not in the the same location as stock lip.

Most people don't bother using the screw hole for anything, the clips will keep it in place on their own

Thats what I thought. Fabricating a bracket seems overkill here.
I might install a stock fender liner screw/clip to cover the hole.

The cup splitter attaches to the carbon fiber flap that extends from the cup fender.

I have that exact setup and don't attach the splitter. It allows me to take it on and off more easily and if you bottom out it will just rip the screw out. Did not find it to be necessary at all.

On my old GT3 the Cup lip used to pop off constantly. So I put screws on each side where the factory holes are then drilled the fender liner and installed locking clips on the inside. That’s what I have on the GT3RS too and it’s perfect.

I third ilkos strategy. If your car is low enough or you just meet the wrong dip in the road the Cup Lip comes right off. the screw and retaining clip is the best approach I've seen.

BTW how do you guys install the carbon fender liner extension mentioned a couple posts above? Does the bumper have to be removed? I have a pair and I know where they go but don't know how to get them on my car. Thanks!

Josh,

They bolt to the cup car fender extensions which bolt into the cup fender. I have not seen them installed on normal fenders, although might be possible?

Thanks my friend. I believe my buddy has them on his 2007 GT3. And he said the holes are on the fender liner. Problem is the fender liner is obscured by the lip. I saw them on another car but as I recall it might have had the fender extensions. I should probably pull the front of my car apart just to clean it out but there's gotta be an easier way....maybe? Or it could be another excuse to get Cup fenders/extensions.

If your Cup Lip stays on without the screw a) your car isn't low enough b) you aren't driving fast enough c) you only drive on the track (nice!)

By chance does anyone have a part number for the lower wheelwell "spoiler" attachment that Ilko's Cup lip is attached to? I went to rip off my GT3 lip and install my Cup lip just now and noticed my driver's side is missing :/
