Fairly light, strong, bead seat knurling...for $1500? What else would you recommend that are inexpensive but look high end?

All you have to do is look in Apex own offerings. Sure they don't offer them in Porsche fitment, but for the Porsche the EC-7 wheel would be a lot better looking wheel and more motorsport. Again it's just my opinion and looks are subjective. That aside the features incorporated into the design of this wheel are very good and not typically seen in a wheel this price.

Yep, looks are subjective...apparently you like mesh design wheels. All good. Those ec-7's look like very common BMW wheels to me though. I don't personally think they'd look any better on the 911. BTW, what is "more motorsport"?

I agree on the last statement, thus my interest in Apex.

Personally, my only gripe is the finish options they offer. That's likely the only thing keeping me from buying a set of SM-10's,

More Motorsport I mean by looks. For example the 997 cup cars use a mesh design.

And yes I'm biased on mesh design as I had bbs motorsport make the cup monoblock wheel in a 5 lug for my car.

Ok, got it. Yep...overall I love the mesh design in general...but some mesh I like and some I don't.

Eric, when will we see some actual shots of the 18x12" Porsche SM-10's?
The on-car imagery seen on BR Racing's .2 GT3 are renderings, and the individual SM-10 photographs show our real 5x120 BMW SM-10. While most all aspects of the wheel differ (including concavity, center pad, center cap size, lack of knurled bead, drop barrel and lip shape, structural differences, etc, etc), the individual SM-10 photography seen above is an accurate representation of their fit and finish.

We'll have samples wheels in all concavity profiles and finishes on hand in the coming weeks. We'll be taking loads of professional photography; both on-car and of individual wheels. Those who are in the Bay Area and would like to see these in person are more than welcome. We have a growing list of Porsches that we're going to be photographing with SM-10 mounted, but would love to add more photoshoots onto the list. If you're local to the Bay Area, CA, (or willing to drive) and would like professional shots taken, or would simply like to see SM-10 on your car prior to pledging your Group Buy interest, please reach out!

I'm looking forward to getting these SM-10 on your 996TT. The sample wheels are projected to arrive in the coming weeks, so we'll be in touch!

Feel free to reach out with any additional questions, or visit the Group Buy site for further information.

Finally some real shots showing off the details. Much better than the renderings IMO.

I'm in for 1-2 sets. I just hope they clear my 997.2 GT3 front calipers. I've swapped to 5 lug, but I don't think they had a 5 lug 997.2 to test fit.

We have test fit against an OEM PCCB equipped (380mm rotors, 6-piston calipers) 997.1 GT3RS. I have the understanding that these GT3 (997.1 and .2) share the same brake dimensions, but OEM brake templates are nearly impossible to source. We have a photoshoot lined up with a .1 RS this coming week, so stay tuned!

I throw in my vote for Signature Wheel being the best quality wheel for the money. Doesn't get any better for a fully forged wheel for that price point.
