997.2 GT3 was like Early FaceBook/Apple. Agree?

Hi all,
I was was lucky enough to get my GT silver baby in 2010, brand new. All in I was like $117k out the door. As I read the forums and see all of the new prices over the last many years I consider myself so lucky to own this car especially at the price that I paid for it. Do you guys also feel this way? I mean normal “” GT3’s are going for $175 and change. Forget about the fact that it’s tougher to get than Front row seats at U2.
Really the newer cars are incredible and are worth the money that is not what I’m saying. I guess I’m just saying with these new gt3’s reaching almost 200 grand isn’t our car an absolute ridiculous bargain. As I said in my title it’s almost like buying Facebook and Apple during the initial IPO
A base Carrera can often surpass what I paid for my GT3.
anyway I just wanted to get everyone else’s thoughts on this perspective. We are truly lucky.
Eric

Uh what? FB is 5x IPO price. GT3 .2s have depreciated from MSRP. So ‘no’?

MAYBE if you assume most cars you bought would be less than half of their original value, THEN you could kinda sorta equate it to but FB of 2010 cars. Maybe if you had bought a 4.0 and it at least had doubled instead of a 997.2 gt3 being relatively flat to down a bit vs msrp. But we get your point.

Ugggh. I agree, wow has U2 fallen from grace. I wish they'd just stop trying to put out more music and hang it up. Was a big big fan once upon a time. They've put out a steady stream of irrelevant crap for years now unfortunately. It just waters them down.

the best bands go out on top
or realize their best years are behind and capitalize on that vs. trying to create new 'art'
There are few exceptions to this. U2 is not an exception, anything past Joshua tree was basically crap :-) And I'd argue after war is crap.
I'd argue Radiohead is an exception, but I like obscure and complex, non mainstream music and their art has evolved substantially. Ok, I think Slayer is an exception too because they rock hard and know what works. lol
But the comparison to FB? Well if financial, no, see above, if other, no, FB will die if they fail to innovate. In that vein, they are drastically behind Google, Apple, etc.
OMG I can't believe I took the time to respond to this
