Default Rennsport lodging

Gent's,

Anybody have a suggestion or two for lodging leading up to and during Rennsport? Or just contact the Raceway as they suggest. I may drive out or trailer out but am wondering if anyone can toss out some options.

Thanks in advance..

Mj

We stay at the Embassy Suites Seaside. Track is about 10-15 minutes away. Breakfast and also happy hour with light poo poos in the afternoon. Great parking lot. Last Rennsport there were a few trailers in the parking lot.

If you are parking the trailer at the hotel options will be limited. So if you have status anywhere start calling that chain's hotels for parking options. Carmel is nicer than Monterey. If you're making the trek all the way from MN it's worth staying there. Monterey is 10-15 min from Carmel and Laguna Seca is another 10-15 min. We're staying at the Hyatt Carmel Highlands as a data point. There is a thread in the 991 GT section worth following about this. Maybe some private rennlist parties will happen like last time. Honestly though, there will be Pcars EVERYWHERE during this week. So anywhere you stay there will be friends. Book early though.

I’d go the AirBnB route. I know the area very well and if parking is an issue, outside the house or in the driveway is the way to go. As for which area is nicer, it depends if you want a secluded spot or a bit more suburban. Either way, southwestern Seaside down to Carmel by the Sea won’t be of any issue.

If you need help, hit me up.

Decent lodging options at this time are extremely limited.

Once the big rush is over from the Monterey Historics in August room availability get better, or at least it has the past few years when we go there.

Thanks all. I have 10 months to find something. I'm sure things fill up fast in terms of standard lodging/hotels. I have used Air BnB's many times. Looks like their is stuff available now to rent. I spent 10 years in SoCal so I know the area somewhat. Will use it as a base to have fun for 10 days

FYI - Carmel by the Sea and I believe Pacific Grove have outlawed short term home rentals (anything less than 30 days) there are still folks bucking the system but the towns are coming down hard on anyone they catch. Be careful, a place you rent today may not be available 6 months from now regardless if you have made a reservation and paid a deposit.

Embassy suites is ideal for parking a truck and trailer and close to track as well as P dealership.

I am going to make the pilgrimage again from Sydney Australia, it would be cool if there was a rennlist get together.

Hoping to get a few more Aussies over with us too.

Any other recommendations for lodging?

I was lucky & booked my Airbnb in Carmel Valley 30 minutes after receiving the pca email announcing the dates (while in the air flying to Monterey for car week last August)... I've stayed in this house a few times & love the location.

Most of the hotels have already raised their prices based on booking activity, so you'll be paying a premium. I just checked & the Carmel Mission Inn have rooms available for less than $300 - I've stayed here a few times also and it's probably the best you'll get for the $. Try to get one of the wrap-around balcony rooms on the 2nd floor.

Booked my airbnb in Seaside. Looking at Google Street View is now making me a little nervous. It looks like a neighborhood where a GT3 will definitely stand out.

Mission inn is sold out long time ago. I booked portola hotel and spa (where they hold RM Sotheby’s auction during car week) for a very reasonable $300 or so per night. Very easy cancellation and no deposit.

At least one good part now lol, seaside does has the best coffee place in all of Monterey at Acme Coffee. It’s a walk up so don’t expect to sit down with your laptop but its mostly a locals place, will not disappoint. Coffee is very much on point.

Did you live there when the base was open? If so, then yeah back then it was a lot more colorful. Pretty chill nowadays. Way more crime up in santa cruz or salinas.
