over rev report
Can you comment on this? What is the meaning and how ugly is this report:
range 1: 7274 / 527h
range 2: 942 / 333h
range 3: 181 / 326h
range 4: 52 / 326h
range 5: 0 / 0h
range 6: 0 / 0h
Operating hours counter: 631
Thanks a ton, all!

Thanks! So 326h is the hour stamp of the most recent over-rev of the range 4 category? (and the range 3 by coincidence)
Would you typically divide miles by operating hours to get a feel for when this last over-rev happened, I guess?

Also, I guess the "ignition count" column counts each time a spark is fired within the over-rev range?
So - for example - if the car has 20,000 miles on the odo, and a current total of 631 hours on running clock, that's an average travel speed (over lifetime) of 31.7 mph. Back calculating (on average life usage) the last range 4 event happened somewhere around 326h x 31.7mph = 10,332 miles.
I know that's very, very averaged, but comparing against the carfax could help get a feel for how long ago that was?
OK, I'm over-analyzing again. I'll stop now.

Its hard to estimate engine hours and miles - unique to each vehicle. Example - lots of idle time with low miles (sitting in a lot of traffic, trailering, or just turning on the engine every once in while). Or low engine hours and high mile - long drive commutes. If you know the driving behavior you can probably estimate things. Even better if you can record a monthly readout...
Yes, range 3 will be recorded because you have range 4 - (RPM went through all range 1-4). In this case, the last range 3 happen at 326h the time range 4 happened.

Max on each range is 65,535. Ask me how I know?
Assume average speed of most cars in the US is about 30mph, so this car has around 19,500 miles? Please correct me here...
This happened 10,000 miles ago, guessing not a garage queen, do a ppi, and go for it.
