Default Rotor replacement AP vs Girodisc vs stock

Any drawbacks to AP Racing J hook or Girodisc rotors on the 997.2?

Any reason to stay stock?

I’m leaning toward the girodisc but would gladly buy the ap discs if they are significantly better.

With that said I’ve never had rotors with replaceable rings. anything to know about with those? trade offs?

I've tried girodisc with Pagid RS29 pads - those pads started cracking the OEM rotors with track use, but the girodisc held up much longer and as you mentioned, you can just replace the rings when that time comes. I think OEM discs are fine for street use

Anyone here happy with OEM discs and stock pads for only spirited driving and some trackdays?

How's your driving capabilities? Are you ok with paying extra for more frequent pad changes?

It honestly all depends on how deep your pockets are. The OEM set up is not bad but the OEM pads will quickly wear out depending on your skill level, also will the OEM rotors.

I do couple track days a year and am fairly decent paced driver and am a tad aggressive on the brakes so they wear out. And for the price difference of $500-600 I bought Brembo rotors for my car rather than OEM, should last 2x as long!
