So my air bag light is on.The dealer claims it is the sensor in seat frame of the Carbon Bucket seats.(the car is a 997 GT2)
He says the I need to replace the passenger seat frame for 6,400. dollars plus 1k in shipping for a total cost including labor of 8,400.00 Dollars! Has anyone else had this experience or have any ideas on a fix?

Check how that sensor is attached to the frame in PET. Maybe a replacement sensor can be installed from another seat? Used 997 seats are relatively cheap, it might be worth a shot.
Worst case, if you don't want to spend the money just disable the seat airbags with PIWIS.

there is a switch in the seat belt receptacle that we replaced and all was good nothing to do with the sensor itself
that might be worth a look - it was just over $150 at the time

Your dealer maybe pulling a fast one or in reality have no clue.
My dealer has/had no clue. They said no way PWIS can disable weight sensor or calibrate it. I did it via durametric. I got the light after i removed passenger seat to clean carpet/install fire extinguisher bracket holder. What i have learned(on multiple occasions now) is my dealerships , do NOT know the full capabilities of PWIS. That includes Fletcher Jones in Fremont or Sonnen Porsche in Marin(i love them both- no hate). Others i have talked to offline can confirm w/ their own experience. Nothing wrong w/ not knowing all the ins/outs of the PWIS as it's VERY complex and super slow to load therefore it's frustrating to use...
