Default WHEELS - How to go from Silver to Black?

Contemplating going from Silver to Black, what's the best way to do this?

Buy new wheels?

Have them painted / powder coated?

Paint the lugs too?

All advice appreciated

Depends on how much you want to spend. Black is an easy color to get right, and powdercoat will give you the most durable finish. I wouldn't touch the lugs, but you can buy different colors. Usually they are anodized as they get beat up more than rims.

If you want a cheap and quick method, I have also seen good results via plastidip

Just for your info ; I just priced a set of 4 wheels in orange from the dealer and I think this price includes a 15% discount and our State sales tax of 6.035 % - it was around $12,400 / set . Maybe black would be a different price , but I doubt it would be off that much .

How do you like your current wheel?
If that is the style you always like then powder coat it with new finish color.
A set of new wheel will give your 911 complete new look.

I just recently went through this same thought process. I love the factory 997.1 GT3 wheels so I decided to keep them and go with a black aftermarket set.

I went with a set of Forgeline GA3Rs and bought a full set of black lug bolts from ECS Tuning.

Wink

Pretty painless process to have them refinished, if you want to see samples go to our site www.wheeldynamics.com and click on the refinishing tab.

Also regarding bolts, it would be best to pick up a new set, we stock these along with black TPMS valves to boot.
