$180 for that 11k mile .1RS seems like a fair number. Feresten brings nothing for value add.

The real shame here is that someone ordered this RS with that dumb AM antenna. My car is also stricken with that ugly thing.

Prob is add the fees and people don't like.
It's the issue with these center stage auctions, which have become their own world. If we didn't have these auctions to point to, where would be the prices???

Not so sure. I think Seinfield simply missed the peak of the market.
First there was the '08 sold at auction for $147:

And then the FleaBay '07 just the other day at $115
If anyone becomes aware of a subsequent sale that bucks this trend, please post it.

He may have missed peak but that car got to 180. It's insane it was no sale
07-08 are same. No valuation differences.
But 115 for an rs will not trade hands. Dealers will offer more.
Trust me on this.
The bat car is 152 with fees plus transport.

The fleebay car had some strange history on the carfax:
Sounds to me like the entire drivetrain was dropped and "cleaned"... this leads me to believe this may have been a flood car.
The eBay sellers home address is not in a particularity affluent part of Miami and he has virtually no eBay history.
If it did change hands you can bet 100% it will be reposted on auto trader shortly by a re-seller.

That said, history and condition is everything. A sale price and a nice write up are basically meaningless. If you told me both of your "low sale price" examples had full records, verified no paint work and basically nothing funky, or what folks in the industry call a "clean car" then yes, I would say people should be resetting expectations, or, getting out their check books!

And so I think we are seeing a market correction. I don’t buy the theory that all the recent sales are outliers and had stories and issues. Have not seen any high dollar 997.1 sales recently. There are a number of sellers still asking $160-$180. Time will tell if they can move them at those numbers.

You have not seen any "high dollar" sales is because the ones worth keeping are being kept. There are quite a few out there with stories that are trying to rewite a second edition. There are less than 500 07-08 RS in the USA.

Attempting to track ebay sales history or asking prices means absolutely nothing.
Hopefully McLaren is the next mark and all the froth will start buying up the MP12-4c, 675, ect. and 997GT cars will return to reasonably sane prices.
