Drove my 997.2 GT3 as daily for over 26k miles. Loved every second of it. Sold it and got 991 GT3 then 991 RS. Now getting a 13k mile .2 GT3 in a few weeks as an addition and replacement for old one.

I daily drove mine for a 1.5 year. Then switched jobs and new job has a non fun commute therefore not DD. Never had a problem. Enjoyed the drive to work and back home.

Friend DD his GT3 for the last 4 years. He has no qualms either. It's an easy car to DD IMO, besides getting proficient in trying not to scrape front lip.

Thanks guys. Just had a "2 GT3" day yesterday. First was a 2010 GT3 that a PCA member just picked up. Fantastic. Second was another member's GT3 RS and... holy cow! What can I say. No problem in the city and both ANIMALS on the open road.

I think what impressed me was the rawness yet so light and nimble and amazing control at the higher speeds. Incredible.

The RS certainly has a "circus" that's comes along with it. Every street corner through the city - people shooting video, families of kids with their thumbs-up etc... What a hoot!

OK, ok. I GET what the fuss is all about...

7.2 gt3 is the best dd of the n/a 997 gt/rs variants imo. Oddly enough, values and looks aside, gt2rs probably the best dd out of the entire 997 gt lineup: suspension compliance, lighter clutch, power delivery, etc. it is legitimately easy to drive at sane speeds but will remind u it WILL kill u if provoked.

7.1 suspensions are ROUGH and rear end bouncy and I swear the clutch in 7.1gt3 the stiffest of them all (could be my imagination?). Love the 7.1 3/3rs on back roads though cause the rear end dances and fun rush to redline.

7.2 gt3 picks up more useable torque down low and more complaint car, nicer interior, better interface/stereo/lift/creature comforts. I think it's the least exciting toy of them all.

7.2rs clutch makes more noise but actually lighter. 4.0 clutch even lighter. 2rs clutch at least as light as 4.0 and most compliant suspension. But all the .2 rs are a bit over the top visually and clearly values crazy to use as dd. The n/a versions pretty loud too (which is one more reason they rock as a toy but lack as a Dd).

And I would include the 7.2 GT3 as well.

Agreed.

UPDATE on the RS? The thing is BONKERS. Driving at ligitimate speeds? Crazy hard to do. Took it out the other night - OMG. It was egging me on to provoke it. Incredible car.

just want to add: the wing obscures the rear view mirror a bit but you can use the driver's side mirror to look directly behind you just fine, just move your head to the left.
