Default Cabrio Settings ?? Convertible owners help plz!

Can any Cab owners help...

When I push the button to put my top down at the end once the top is down it raises the side windows. My Boxster did not do this. I'd like to lower the top without having the windows roll up automatically.

Does anyone know if this can be changed in settings by the dealer?

Thanks : )

Interested in this. I would love to have that option as well. I was told by my local dealer that this was not doable. When I try to time the button release I get the "convertible top not in end position" message. Now I just let it go as soon as the windows start to go up but I always have to put them back down. Not a HUGE hassle but would prefer not to have to do it.

Check the smarttop from mods4cars.com

It's a plug n play dongle you connect to the cable for the smart top and you can adjust a number of things.

Here is the manual:

Mine does the same. Not a big deal. But if it bothers you it sounds like the after-market smart top may offer a solution. Good luck.

I just let go of the cab button once the windows start moving. It maybe raising 1" at most. If it bothers me, I just then put them down. You can hear the window start to engage the motor...

But if you must spend money, smart top as others have suggested.

I believe if you watch your MFD while the top is going up or down, you will see the text telling you about the operation - up or down. The text disappears at the limit position, i.e. full up or full down. At that point you can immediately release the button for the top and the windows will not move (we're talking fractions of a second here so you must be quick about it). Don't do it while driving though, too much of a distraction.

Probably not the simple solution you were hoping for, but it does work.

I watch in my rear view for the lid to close and come to a rest, then a fraction of a second later it does a final little downward pull as the latch secures it. At that point, let go of the switch.

I say, no German engineers, its not always cold, in fact where I live I can and do drive with the top down all year, and I never drive it with the windows up.

Please give me the option to have my windows NOT automatically go up. -Vielen Dank

I rest my left arm on the window, as soon as I feel the window I let go go of the button. On my car the drivers window comes up first, so usually I just have to role the drivers side window back down.

BoxCam, you wright with a good German accent. We just had some of our German friends visiting us. My son said, "Dad, I think I have German figured out, you just replace the W's with V's"
