Please Help! Cant stream music on 997.2?
So i just got my 2010 997.2 c2 and apparently this year you cant stream music through bluetooth? Theres an "ipod" wire that the last owner had an old ipod that he was using. I went and bought an iphone 4 to iphone 7 adapter (30 pin to lightning) and connected it to the wire under the arm rest and it does not work. I bought an Auxiliary cord plugged an iphone 7 headset adapter or 3.5mm jack to lightening and plugged it in under the arm rest, doesn't work. Went and got an iphone 5 with a 3.5mm jack, took off the adapter, plugged it directly to the aux port, doesn't work. Keeps saying ipod not plugged in.

When you're using the iPod cable, do you have both the USB and Serial connections plugged into the car ports? They both need to be plugged in...
Do your phones have large amounts of music/playlists? It can take a while for the PCM system to load in the info, need to give it some time...
Otherwise I'm stumped as I've successfully used an old iPod and iPhone6 (with 30-pin to Lightening adapter) in my 2010. Just plugged in, navigated to the right PCM menus, and off they went.

You need the Y cable that plugs into the USB and the round connection. The other end goes to your iPod or iPhone. Mine works just fine. Go to Suncoast and order one. It's not something you can get at Best Buy

For Pandora (or anything on my iPhone including downloaded music/playlists), I just use a 3.5m jack plugged into the AUX slot, then you have to choose AUX from the Source button. It streams anything that it's connected to, but you cannot control the music selection from the PCM (only from your phone). Both options work great once you're set up, although the PCM 3.1 connectivity in my 2012 Cayenne S provides the BT music streaming capability that I wish the 3.0 had

Same here, have a 997.2 PCM and purchased a used iPod 16g nano 6 gen. It's the smallest Nano ver of all nano generations produced and matches up with Porsche's OEM PCM connector. I keep it permanently connected in the car. It works perfectly and sound quality better than after market Bluetooth adapters.

For those of you using the Nano, do you have any issues when the car sits out in the heat for a few hours?
I am using a USB stick and when I park the car for a few hours outside, the PCM has issues reading the USB stick (I get a message that USB is not connected). I've tried this with a few different USB sticks and get the same result.

Thanks for the info guys. Today, I haven't been able to get my USB stick to work at all. I wonder if there is something wrong with the port. I did plug a cable into the USB port, and it was able to charge my phone. Why won't it recognize my USB stick?
I did order an iPod cable. May just go that route, but I do prefe the USB stick, if possible.

for my 2012 GTS (997.2) I use a Bluetooth to aux dongle from best buy (around $30) to connect my phone (either iphone 7S or Samsung S8+.... both work). must switch source to aux. that way, you can have your phone calls connected through pcm bluetooth (if your car has it) and your phones media (gps, youtube, pandora...) audio go to the dongle. A problem is, the dongle has short battery life. if you try and charge it through usb or cigarette lighter jack, you'll get audible whine to the speakers. A way around this is to use a portable charged batterry to keep dongle charged. That should last a week or so until you'll need to recharge the portable battery through car's usb. That might take a few hours at which can be accomplished (with Porsches thankfully) while car is parked and off. You can also charge while car on but you'll get the audible whine.
Cars without an aux input will need to use a radio dongle which connects to a radio channel as opposed to the aux input. These solutions require no installation. Other route is to switch audio system to a modern aftermarket.
if by chance, you have the aux and bluetooth option on your car but can't seem to get source to get to it, a little known fact is..it must be enabled. for me, this was done through the CD options through PCM settings options. This is not obvious stuff. pm me if you need help with this.
