Default Climarepair Navi update

Hello all,

I am having troubles installing the new firmware and Navi DVD. I feel that I have followed the directions provided. Please advise if anyone has had success and can help.

Did you contact Climarepair for help? Oh wait, they don't stand behind their products.

Yes I have. John has been a great help however when I email him it takes about a day for him to reply. I'm in North Carolina & I don't know where he is emailing from.

Yea I had to put in firmware disk 3. After it asks to update then to put in the new Navi disk. After a few minutes the message reads unreadable. After that when I push the main & trip it doesn't show that my numbers go up. It's like my firmware didn't update either.

I updated my software and Nav DVD through clima repair, when one of the disk did not work they just sent me a replacement. The replacement disk worked.

I wanted to add that if you replace PCM3.1 and VIN doesn't match, everything works, but you will have no sound (at least with Bose audio). The VIN, however, can be programmed using launch x431 onto PCM. I have done that. With programmed VIN, the audio is enabled. PIWIS didn't seem to be able to program the VIN without online account. With Launch X431, there is a special function that has vague description but it actually does program VIN without needing a code from Porsche.

If the question is directed towards my post, I have to clarify that my post relates to physically replacing the PCM. An update won’t cause a VIN issue. If u buy a used PCM and install in ur car, this programming becomes necessary.
