Default I miss my 997 C2S

I bot my first 911 in December. I knew what I wanted and found one at Porsche of Melbourne (FL). I paid cash but once I got to the finance dept. I was offered a warranty: 5k for 3/36. The car was a one-owner, 31k on it. I ended up buying it.

So 2+ weeks ago, driving with my 8 yo, I smell smoke and my AC starts blowing ambient air....(34,540) on it, now.

I have the car flat-bedded to the dealer. Along with the AC issues, I had some creaking from the front when I turned the wheel from lock to lock.

2 weeks later I still don't have my car. The warranty company has been good but slow. It turns out one front strut has failed, front strut bushings are smoked, something with the AC (obviously) and there is a coolant leak.

Ugggggh.

I called service this morning (Fields...they have been great) and asked what it would cost to replace the OTHER strut on MY DIME....the call back...$1650+ tax....

Porsche tax! Looking forward to getting my car back. I have a very nice 335 I drive daily but I love my Porsche ! Thx for letting me vent.

Your 1st mistake was to buy the car from Porsche of Melbourne.

There is a rock solid indie about 3 miles away, Werkshop (Dan Cleary) http://werkshop.biz/Services1.htm,

Did you get a PPI?

Doesn't sound as if you did…

2 weeks, sound just like Porsche of Melbourne…

Say "Hi" to that ponce Shay Rowe.

You can try to negotiate with warranty company if you were put both (which you should) Bilstein 22-147530, who is your OEM supplier as opposed to a single "Porsche" # 997 343 045 16. Those are B4 OE Replacement and cost only about $380 ea.

The car is at Fields in Jacksonville (was Brumos), where I live. Porsche of Melbourne was top notch in every aspect of the transaction.

I had a ppi done at my trusted indy in Jacksonville. Porsche of Melbourne gave me 30 days, 1k to get it done.

The ppi came back in good shape. The ac just went out and the steering started creaking. I should be in great shape when done.
