I am a long-time BMW owner. In fact, this is the first time since 1997 that we are a less-than-2 BMW family, and had as many as 3 at one time. I had 2 E36 M3's--one of the best all-around cars that does everything well--an E46 M3, an '00 M Roadster, and a bunch of others. I'm now a 2-Porsche and 1 BMW owner, having just bought an '07 S Cab, white with cocoa brown interior and top. I intend to use it for my daily driver. I've owned 5 911's over the many years, but this is the first water-cooled car I've owned so I'm excited to see how it goes. I never wanted an oil-cooled car as a DD because of the stop and go mentioned above. The Cab joins my '95 C2 that is about as slippery-sloped as you can get.
